Cristiano Ronaldo ‘agrees to terms’ with Juventus

Five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly agreed to personal terms to join Juventus next season.

The Portugal captain looks set to leave Real Madrid after nine years at the Santiago Bernabeu where he won four Champions League titles, two La Liga titles and four Ballon d’Or awards.

It is understood that the 33-year-old will join Juventus on a four-year-contract worth €30 million per season.

Ronaldo’s release clause at Real Madrid is currently set at €1 billion but it’s understood that Madrid would be willing to waive that clause after Juventus lodged a bid of €100 million.

Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes is working on finalising the deal and he told Portuguese newspaper Record after a meeting with Madrid’s vice-president José Ángel Sánchez that a move to Juventus would be an exciting chapter for Real Madrid’s all-time leading goalscorer.

“If it happens, it will be a new chapter and a new challenge in his brilliant career,” Mendes said.

“If Cristiano Ronaldo leaves Real Madrid, he will remain eternally grateful to the club, the president, all the staff without exception, as well as the Madrid fans throughout the world.”
