Could a case of the mumps scupper Manchester United’s move for Pedro?

Maybe a slight delay

Gareth Makim

Pedro’s impending move to Manchester United could be delayed after one of his Barcelona team-mates was laid up with the mumps

The club confirmed that Neymar has been diagnosed with the illness, despite having previously vaccinated, ruling the Brazilian out of action for a minimum of two weeks.

That means he will miss this Tuesday’s European Super Cup final against Sevilla and the two-legged Spanish Super Cup against Athletic Bilbao on Friday and next Monday.

Pedro’s desire to leave the Nou Camp stems from a lack of playing time behind Neymar, Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, but with the La Liga campaign also starting in a fortnight, boss Luis Enrique could hold firm on any deal until Neymar is cleared to return.
