Mick King we saulute you.
Cork City are hosting Derry City tonight at Turners Cross in the FAI cup replay and the game was scoreless at the break.
But thankfully if there isn’t much entertainment on offer on the pitch, there has been an ‘only in the League of Ireland’ moment on the sideline.
Midway throught the first half it appears that there was an incident involving the corner flag and the Cork City kitman Mick Ring
To be fair to @MickRing83, it may not have been him who broke it, he was helping with the recovery effort

And how was he helping with the efforts to make sure the game got back underway as quickly as possible?
Well by giving it his best Fr Dougal Maguire of course.

Thankfully everything seems to be sorted once again and action us resuming on Leeside.
Looks to be that flagstick has been replaced and cloth transferred. Like Trigger's broom, it's still same flag #GreatestLeagueInTheWorld

Cork City 0-0 Derry City HT. Extra-time/penalties if required. Good news: the corner flag suffered a sprain, not a break as initially feared

More proof if needed that the League of Ireland is indeed the best league in the world.
UPDATE:
Cork are now leading 2-0 entering the closing stages.
