Ugly scenes spell end for Tralee native
Cork City manager John Caulfield has confirmed that the club are actively looking to get midfielder Billy Dennehy off the club’s books, but have denied it had anything to do with a row with a team-mate last week.
The former Shamrock Rovers player and Mark O’Sullivan were involved in a bizarre row during the club’s 1-1 draw against KR Reykjavik in the Europa League.
Dennehy’s younger brother Darren then got involved and now both men have been pulled from the squad for this week’s return leg in Reykjavik.
Speculation over the weekend had suggested that the club were unhappy with the incident, and that they were looking to have Billy Dennehy leave the club.
Speaking to the media in Cork on Tuesday morning ahead of flying out for the second leg, Caulfield confirmed that the club have told Dennehy he has no future at Turners Cross.

The club signed Steven Beattie from Sligo on Monday, and once his arrival was confirmed, it appeared that the Kerryman’s time on Leeside was drawing to a close.
Despite the statement from the Cork City manager, not everyone believes that his departure and the incident last week are unconnected,
Mmmm, quite the coincidence then. Big call. The stuff last week was ludicrous but he'll be a big loss. https://t.co/ye35SmMYWB
