What an achievement.
Conor Hourihane is a name Irish football fans are getting more familiar with by the day.
He’s been touch and go in an Ireland jersey with a below-par performance against Mexico but was one of the few shining lights against Iceland.
With the two crunch World Cup qualifiers against Georgia and Serbia quickly approaching the Aston Villa player has just thrown his name into the hat for a starting spot.
The 26-year-old started against Norwich (Wes Hoolahan was on the bench) and was sensational.
As Aston Villa ran out 4-2 winners in an enthralling encounter Hourihane scored a hat trick and it that means Irish fans have inevitably been calling for the player to start for Martin O’Neill’s side.
Martin O'Neill was looking for Hendrick to step up as a goalscoring midfielder

Two for Hourihane today after a screamer in Villa's last game. Good to see some Irish players on form ahead of the Serbia game.
