“It’s absolutely shocking.”
That’s what Coleen Rooney made of The Sun’s front page on Tuesday morning.
The sports section of newspaper surprised many by awarding Wayne Rooney 8/10 in their player ratings for England’s shock defeat at the hands of Iceland.
And perhaps it was an attempt to win back the favour of the national team captain after deciding to use a front page that was not exactly embraced by the Rooney family.
The Sun’s front page had a photograph of Kai Rooney, the six-year-old son of Wayne and Coleen, crying after England were eliminated from Euro 2016 by Iceland at the round of 16 stage.
The leading headline was ‘Dumbs Gone to Iceland’ – a play on the slogan of the supermarket.
And Coleen took to Twitter to voice her disapproval of the front page selected.
Yes I've seen that front page and it's absolutely shocking!! 😡
