There are a lot of truths in sport that go unsaid, but everyone is aware of.
The old adage always rings true though. What happens in the dark always comes to light. There are few brighter moments in sport than winning the league, and once that blinding spotlight was shone on Newcastle United, something became very obvious about Jack Colback.
For those of you who were too busy out living life and enjoying the glorious weather on Sunday, let us bring you up to speed.
Newcastle United are heading back to the Premier League after hammering Barnsley 3-0 in the final round of the regular Championship season. Just because the universe works in mysterious ways, Jack Grealish is sort of responsible for them clearing that crucial final hurdle thanks to his late, late equaliser against Brighton and Hove Albion.
Grealish is now a hero to the Toon, the Toon are in the Premier League, if our Maths checks out (which it often doesn’t) that makes Grealish a Premier League hero.
That’s the world we live in now.

The world we live in – for one year, at least – takes place in 2017. This is, of course, the era of smartphone technology, meaning that for the first time in human history, people have taken more selfies than they’ve eaten hot dinners.
Every occasion, joyous or sorrowful, that front-facing camera gets wheeled out to immortalise the moment forever on a tiny screen.
Some occasions are bigger than others, and to Ciaran Clark’s credit, winning the Championship is probably worthy of a selfie. The only problem with his snap is that it revealed something about his teammate Colback… he has a ‘selfie face.’
