That’s it Christian, blame ‘the person that manages your account’. Classic.
Christian Benteke has ended his 13-month stay on Merseyside, with the Belgium completing a deal to join Crystal Palace from Liverpool.
As we told you earlier, the Belgian didn’t make the best start to life at Selhurst Park. With the official announcement made that he was a Palace player, Benteke’s Twitter bio showed that he was now a Burnley player.
Benteke definitely hadn’t signed for Burnley, who incidentally hosted Liverpool at Turf Moor on Saturday.
Although the mistake was soon corrected, it didn’t stop plenty of people spotting (and sharing) it.
After plenty of piss taking, Benteke has now responded – explaining that the error had nowt to do with him.
Oops my bad lol Yes I signed for cpfc and not burnley. Sorry for the little mistake the person that manages my Twitter got a little confused

Good of him to confirm once again that he’s signed for Crystal Palace.
Benteke signed a four year deal with Burnley Palace, costing them a club record £27m – £5m less than Brendan Rodgers spent to bring him to Anfield from Aston Villa last season.
Having struggled to find form during his early weeks at Liverpool, Benteke found his chances limited when Rodgers was replaced by Jurgen Klopp in October.
If only we could all blame the person that runs our Twitter account / sends our text messages?
