Chelsea launch monster January bid for Jamie Vardy to fire them clear of relegation but they’re not alone

Manchester's calling too

Relegation-threatened Chelsea turn to Leicester hotshot.

Beautiful.

The trouble is real and so too is the hype. It should no longer be considered good form, Jamie Vardy is a fine footballer.

And, should we not consider it bad form anymore and just accept that Chelsea are Championship material?

Maybe not just yet. Not if Roman Abramovich has anything to do with it.

The west London club owner will stop at nothing to get the Blues pushing back up the table and it seems that Vardy is the latest object of his affection.

The Telegraph are reporting a sum of £30m is being bandied around about the 28-year-old striker and that a January bid is coming. Chelsea don’t have time to waste.

But Gus Hiddink won’t be alone in his pursuit of the goal-scoring machine. Vardy will have the choice of mid-table chasing Chelsea… or Champions League-chasing Manchester City.

Or he could just stay with the league leaders.
