Who’d have thought it? Chelsea fans. A laugh.
The club and its supporters are an easy target. Some of the stick they take is merited and some of it is just easy.
But the Premier League champions travelled to Crystal Palace on Sunday in 17th place. They’ve parted with their manager and they’ve long since parted with the fear factor that came along with the side.
The fans might have had their pop at the players who they blamed for Jose Mourinho’s sacking but the whinging has stopped and the expectation has tempered.
Chelsea supporters are now just enjoying themselves.
Guus Hidink’s men ran through Palace like the Blues of old and the English champs saw it as a cause for celebration. Because they’re staying up.
