That’s one way to clear the deadwood
Chelsea are reportedly willing to offer up to five players as part of a swap deal to sign Juventus forward Dušan Vlahović.
Mauricio Pochettino wants to sign a prolific forward this summer and has eyed up the Serbian as his number one target, who is widely expected to leave after reportedly becoming disillusioned with Massimiliano Allegri’s defensive style of play.
Vlahović has scored 23 goals in 62 games for the Bianconeri since joining in January 2022 and is valued at £68m by Juventus. Bayern Munich are also rumoured to be interested in the forward.
In order to beat their fellow competitors to his signature, Gazzetta via Football Italia have claimed that Chelsea will offer up to five players in order to sweeten the deal.
Christian Pulisic, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Trevoh Chalobah, Romelu Lukaku and Kalidou Koulibaly are allegedly the players the Blues are willing to part ways with to sign the 23-year-old.
Last season only three clubs scored less goals than Chelsea, despite the two-time European champions spending over £600m on players, with none of them scoring more than nine in all competitions.
Several other big names are expected to head for the exit door at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea aim to build on a dismal campaign last season, finishing 12th in the Premier League.
Mason Mount, Mateo Kovačić and Conor Gallagher have all been linked with moves away while reports on Wednesday claimed that Arsenal had opened talks with Chelsea to try and sign Kai Havertz, who had previously been linked with Real Madrid.
