Cesc Fabregas ‘taking legal action against former Chelsea player’

There will be lawyers

Chelsea’s Cesc Fabregas is reportedly taking legal action against pundit Pat Nevin for apparently claiming he was the player who would rather lose than win for Jose Mourinho.

Nevin, a former Chelsea player, made the comments on the Today programme on BBC Radio Four recently. Garry Richardson, presenter of the show, was referring to claims from November that a senior Chelsea player didn’t care about results while playing under Mourinho when Nevin responded: “Yeah, that was Cesc Fabregas, wasn’t it?”

during the Barclays Premier League match between Chelsea and Crystal Palace on August 29, 2015 in London, United Kingdom.

Alerted to the comments, The Daily Mail now reports that Fabregas has authorised lawyers to send legal letters to Nevin alleging defamation.

The Spain international played a key role in Chelsea’s title success last season but has appeared out of form since August.

Following Jose Mourinho’s departure from the club, some supporters were heard booing Fabregas in the 3-1 victory over Sunderland.
