Yes, yes, we were all disappointed that it wasn’t Gary Neville.
After Jamie Carragher had teased a special guest for Monday Night Football by hinting that his former punditry soulmate was rejoining him in front of the Skypad, excitement was at fever pitch.
MNF is back tonight! A man who had a spell in Spain & came back earlier than expected will join us tonight!!

The teasing didn’t last long as it soon emerged that Cesc Fabregas, not Neville, would be on analysis duty for Spurs’ trip to the Britannia.
The Chelsea player, and former Arsenal midfielder, was not exactly shy as he outright claimed “I don’t want Spurs to win it,” before also giving a candid insight into Jose Mourinho’s departure from Stamford Bridge before Christmas.

Fabregas looks like the best current or recently retired pundit apart from Carragher and Neville
