Celtic fans make a very good point as club release third green jersey

They have a point

Robert Redmond

The club loves green more than Brendan Rodgers loves footballers with character.

Celtic’s love of the colour green won’t come as a surprise to anyone, but they’ve really gone all out for the upcoming season, releasing their third green strip.

Their home jersey is, of course, the traditional green and white hoops, while the away jersey features two darker shades of green. Both kits feature a gold trim.

Celtic clearly thought ‘f*** it’ and have decided to continue the green theme with their third strip for next season.

Like the home and away jerseys, it also pays homage to the Lisbon Lions, Celtic’s European Cup winning team from 1967.

This means there won’t be a match next season when the Scottish champions aren’t wearing green, which should go down well with fans of the club.

However, quite a few Celtic fans made a very pertinent point about the strip – it could cause a headache when they come up against another team that wears green, in particular Hibernian.

Hibs won promotion back to the Scottish top flight last season, and are due to host Celtic at Easter Road on December 9th. Celtic might have to release a fourth kit for the game.
