Celtic and Rangers fans won’t have to wait too long for the first Old Firm of 2017/18

A Christmas Old Firm, too

Simon Lloyd

The Scottish Premiership fixtures have been released for 2017/18, with the first Old Firm fixture due to take place in September.

Celtic, who went unbeaten throughout last season, travel to Ibrox for the first meeting between the two Glasgow sides on Saturday 23.

There will also be a Christmas Old Firm this season, with Celtic hosting Rangers at Parkhead on December 30.

A third league meeting between the two sides takes place at Ibrox on March 10.

Elsewhere, the opening Edinburgh derby takes place at Easter Road on the midweek of October 25.

Yet again, there will be a winter break in early January next season, with no fixtures scheduled for the first two weekends of the new year. Scottish top flight teams will return to action in the Scottish Cup on January 20.

The full fixture list for the Scottish Premiership can be found here. As ever, fixtures are subject to change.
