All is rosy at the Bernabeu, according to Carlo
It seems Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti has had enough talk of Gareth Bale’s place in his team.
Bale, who has been subject to boos from supporters during a difficult second season in Madrid that has seen him struggle for form alongside Real’s star-studded line-up.
With Manchester United linked with a move to bring Bale back to England, the former Spurs man’s agent leapt to his defence last week, claiming the 25-year-old has not received a fair shake in the Spanish capital.
But ahead of tomorrow night’s Champions League semi-final, second leg against Juventus, boss Carlo Ancelotti was quick to rebuke Bale’s agent, Jonathan Barnett, claiming his outburst will do little to aid his client’s bid to overcome his current rough patch.
“This is a world where lots of people talk … and sometimes they speak too much,” Ancelotti said. “His agent spoke and he has never come to see a training session, he doesn’t know our atmosphere, he speaks from the outside.
“Bale has never had problems with his team-mates, they have never had problems with him. The players love Bale and Bale loves his team-mates. Then, someone says one word too many. He could have kept quiet, that would have been better.
Ancelotti also insisted Bale was happy at the club and had no desire to leave La Liga.
“Bale has had a good season. Last season he scored in the important moments, in the finals. He may have the same opportunity now. We are happy with his season. I have spoken with him on many occasions. He is really happy to stay here, he has no problem.
“I really didn’t understand what his agent said. Maybe it would have been better if he had kept quiet, but we are used to a lot of people speaking and sometimes speaking too much.”
Team-mate James Rodriguez was also towing the company line, adding: “This is the first time I have heard about this.
“Bale is a good player too. We all want to play with him. And not just him, but with Cristiano (Ronaldo), with Chicha (Javier Hernández) and many more. This is a team and we all have to be united. Whatever is said outside, I can’t have an opinion on that.”
