Cambridge United’s famous draw against Manchester United on Friday will earn them over €1 million but U’s chairman Dave Doggett will be putting that cash straight down the toilets, literally.
Doggett told the Sunday Mirror: “Hopefully we can get the stadium done and start putting in some proper toilets.
“Some toilets and tea bars and more hospitality… that’s what we will do.”
The lowest placed side remaining in the FA Cup battled their way to a stalemate with Louis van Gaal’s men which set up a dream replay at Old Trafford on Tuesday February 3rd for which the League Two outfit have been allocated 9,000 tickets.
The only thing for Doggett to complain about was the fact that the historical Cup tie wasn’t slated for a weekend so Cambridge’s young fans could experience the magic.
“It’s a shame it’s a school night isn’t it?” Doggett told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire.
“I’m just hoping someone from the education department might be listening and may be a bit lenient and let them leave school early and get in late the next day.
“It’s a once in a lifetime experience, it would be a great gesture.”
