This is Liverpool at its best.

Whatever’s happening on the field, the club remains a real constant in the lives of its supporters.

Brendan Rodgers really encapsulated the family mantra of Liverpool FC when he sent this touching letter of condolence to a supporter whose grandfather passed away.

Joe Nelson received the personally written letter from the manager at Anfield after the death of his grandad, Roy.

Rodgers wrote that Roy, a season ticket holder for 60 years, was part of the LFC family and he offered the club’s thoughts and sympathies to the family.

The Northern Irish man signed off with a fitting, ‘You’ll never walk alone.’
