More kip than Kop

Poor Brendan Rodgers hasn’t been having the best time of late.

The Liverpool manager watched his side go crashing out of the FA Cup after Jack Grealish’s midfield mastery inspired Aston Villa to beat the Reds 2-1. Now Rodgers has been slapped with a fine over failing to maintain one of his properties in Lancashire.

Rodgers was found guilty of neglecting the terrace house in Accrington for three years and allowing it to become derelict.

The Anfield boss, along with his business partner Judith O’Hagan were found guilty of ignoring an improvement notice issued to them by the local council. The pair were ordered to repair the windows, doors and roof on the house and to remove the rubbish scattered around the garden.

After failing to do the requisite repairs and tidying, Rodgers was ordered to shell out £775 in costs, as well as a £40 surcharge at Blackburn magistrates’ court.

There are rumours circulating that Rodgers asked Dejan Lovren to remove the rubbish after completely forgetting his inept ability at making clearances at the back.
