With just hours to go until the Euro 2016 final, a controlled explosion was carried out close to the team bus in place to carry the France team to the Stade de France.
A suspicious bag was spotted outside the Equipede Hotel on Sunday afternoon and the bomb squad was called.
The area around the hotel was quickly evacuated and once everybody was at a safe distance, a controlled explosion took place.
The unattended piece of baggage has since been confirmed to no more than a false alarm.
France will take on Portugal tonight in the Euro 2016 final which will close out a tournament about which many were concerned in terms of the potential for terror threats after the shocking attacks on Paris last November.
But the competition has gone off without a hitch and it’s a credit to the work done by authorities in France who have made fans feel safe while they enjoy the football.
