Brazil scored after 12 seconds in a friendly against Australia

One of the fastest goals ever scored

Robert Redmond

This is one of the fastest goals ever scored.

It’s also one of the worst, from a defensive perspective, you’re likely to see this year. Brazil took on Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on Tuesday morning UK time, and went ahead after just 12 seconds.

The first three seconds went according to plan for the Socceroos, who were using the friendly as a warm-up for the Confederations Cup, which begins on Saturday in Russia.

At this point, everything was fine.

However, that was good as it got for Australia in the entire 90 minutes.

Central defender Bailey Wright played a pass, but it was intercepted by Guiliano.

That’s probably too kind on Wright, who passed the ball straight to his opponent…

Who played in Diego Souza, and the midfielder did the rest. The Australian goalkeeper won’t be happy with his attempt to stop the shot either.

From kick-off to the ball hitting the back of the net took around 12 seconds, and Brazil went on to win 4-0.

Australia have Germany, Chile and Cameroon in their group for the Confederations Cup, so they’ll probably need to stop passing the ball directly to their opponents.
