A remarkable story is coming out of Italy about a 14-year-old who’s after woken up from a month-long coma.
The teen, named only as “Michael”, survived an extraordinary ordeal, which resulted in him spending 40 minutes trapped under water and four weeks in a coma.
Michael and five friends jumped off a bridge into a canal near Milan, when things took a turn for the worst. After getting stuck in the canal, his heart stopped. He was rushed to hospital where he was placed in an induced coma.
Remarkably, he woke up a month later showing no signs of brain damage. Upon awaking, Michael wanted to know one thing and one thing only, were his favourite football team, Juventus, still in the Champions League.
There’s an extra bit of good news for Michael as he will presumably now be able to watch his team in action in Saturday’s final against Barcelona.
