The design of the shirt didn't go down at all well with supporters when it was first released, who complained about the lack of the club's badge.
Uefa regulations stated that Dortmund needed the club crest on the shirt, and so a transparent logo was added in time for their Champions League opener against Besiktas in Turkey earlier this month.
Though this satisfied Uefa, it was not enough to appease supporters, who made it known that the subtle change had been a little but too subtle.
This prompted a rethink and Dortmund confirmed over the weekend that the club had contacted Europe's footballing authorities in response to the fans' feedback, requesting approval for a "colour-contrasting" version of the badge to be added.
On Friday, it was confirmed that their request had been approved, meaning Dortmund will be wearing a more visible version of their badge when they kick off against Sporting this week.
