And so it begins. All over again.
If Wednesday night’s relatively calm shenanigans – relatively – were the warm-up act, the main event is promising to be absolutely bonkers.

By Thursday, Bordeaux found itself overrun with green.
The memories of Paris will live on forever but now it’s time for a new city to experience the Gary Breen effect.
Just arrived in Bordeaux but my time in Paris made me very proud to be Irish https://t.co/oBN5z3wn7T via @sportsjoedotie @FAIreland

And, a stroll through the gorgeous Bordeaux streets up as far as Gambetta to a little establishment called the Connemara pub would soon have you perked up again.
Irish fans lined every corner of the cross roads, they sang the usual songs, they cheered the passers-by and they played the biggest game of curbs over two lanes of traffic.
Eventually, the authorities intervened much to their bemusement.
So it’s a good thing that someone brought along a planet-size football and whipped it out of his pocket to get the party back on the road.
The most amazing thing was that the police didn’t seem to mind this one as much.
Sure don’t mind us, we’re Irish.
