Bitter Victor Valdes takes angry swipe at Louis van Gaal after Standard Liege debut

Let it go

Kevin McGillicuddy

Victor Valdes is man who feels he was wronged at Old Trafford.

And even though he now miles and miles away from his alleged tormentor in the form of Louis Van Gaal, he just can’t seem to let it go.

The Spain international left Old Trafford this month after a miserable time in England saw him play just twice for Manchester United before a huge falling out with the Dutchman.

He’s now been hired by Standard Liege in Belgium on loan, and made his debut on Saturday afternoon.

It was a winning one too as the ex-Barceloan man saw his side overcome Leuven 2-0 in the Pro League on Saturday but afterwards the goalkeeper took to his Instagram account to hit out at how he was treated at Manchester United and the ‘lonely’ feeling of being kept away from the first-team for eight months.

“I’m very happy for my first win today with Standard!” Valdes posted on his social media pages.

“And so happy for play again after 8 months working alone. Thanks to the Standard Supporters today, was amazing.”

He’s feeling the love that he was denied at Old Trafford it seems.
