Oh-me-oh-my.

The UEFA Champions League hasn’t disappointed us yet, not this year, not ever, and the whole thing is just about to kick up a notch. The knock-out stages begin next week and, as ever, we have four exciting first leg round of 16 clashes in store.

Chelsea and Spurs are the only English clubs in action this week and, despite some patchy recent form, we’re still tipping the two of them to get the better of their respective opponents.

Elsewhere, PSG are tipped to get the better of Bayern Munich while Club Brugge are expected to take a point off Benfica.

The remaining Round of 16 clashes take place next week, with Liverpool-Real Madrid the tie of the round, while Manchester City take on Red Bull Leipzig.

Let’s focus on the present for now though and, in building up to the action, here’s our 86/1 four-fold accumulator for the first series of knock-out fixtures.

Spurs 11/5 to beat AC Milan

Antonio Conte’s side have been very hit and miss in recent times but the same can be said for AC Milan, who are currently sitting in fifth place in Serie A.

Chelsea made very light work of Stefano Pioli’s side last year, and with Son Heung-Min showing signs of a return to form recently, the expectation is that both he and Harry Kane will have too much firepower for the Italian giants, albeit in the face of a partisan home crowd.

Bayern Munich to beat PSG 7/4

Neither have shot the lights out domestically, although, as you would expect, they are still on top of their respective Leagues.

Julian Nagelsmann’s Bayern did turn-on-the-style in the Champions League group stages however, emerging from something of a group of death with flying covers. They beat both Barcelona and Inter Milan twice on that run, and that suggests a team that means business.

On the other hand, Christophe Galtier’s side are famously flaky in Europe and that’s why the Germans can take advantage.

Club Brugge and Benfica to draw 13/5

Club Brugge showed that they are force to be reckoned with when beating both Porto and Atletico Madrid in the group stage and that’s why Scott Parker’s side are tipped to get a result against the Portuguese side, who have lost some key players in recent transfer windows.

Chelsea 7/4 to beat Dortmund

Admittedly, it’s a risky business backing a Chelsea team that have so many new signings but they have been improving in the League and with these recruits giving them a new dimension, they will pose plenty of problems for a struggling Dortmund side.

They stuttered through the group stage and might just find Chelsea, who traditionally do well in Europe, too good here.

This four-fold works out at an enticing 86/1.
