Forget the next Steven Gerrard, this guy’s the next Paul Daniels.
Georginio Wijnaldum may not have exactly set the world alight in his first few games in a Liverpool jersey, but as the old saying goes: softly, softly, catchee monkey (…what does that even mean? WTF kind of word is ‘catchee’?).
Despite his underwhelming season thus far – all three games of it – he remains a first-team starter for the Netherlands…which is admittedly not quite the accolade it once was. But hey – international football is international football.
The 25-year-old lined up for the boys in Oranje for their vital World Cup qualifier against Sweden at the Friends Arena in Solna. The game ended 1-1, but we’re far more interested in Wijnaldum’s hocus focus prior to kick-off.
As both teams busied themselves warming up, the Liverpool man seemed content enough to wander around the pitch sans ball. Then, with a Dutch official walking past him, and no doubt worried he’d get told off, he decided to simply magic one up.
Check it out for yourself – the football literally appears from thin air…
Of course some would have you believe that it’s simply a case of Daley Blind jogging past in the foreground, thus shielding a rolling pass, but that’s exactly what the Illuminati want you to believe. Open. Your. Eyes.
If Georginio isn’t a master magician, how do you explain him constantly disappearing during away games? The man’s an actual wizard.
