James Dawson

A Manchester United side that their fans can be proud of

After a disappointing sixth-place finish Manchester United fans finally had something to cheer about at Old Trafford on Sunday as a team of legends, led by Alex Ferguson, faced of a side of former Bayern players in a rerun of their classic 1999 Champions League final win.

While the former Reds players might not have the legs that they used to, they proved they still had quality with some beautiful lofted passes on display over the course of the match.

One passage of play, in particular, gave fans everything they would have been hoping for, with David Beckham overlapping Gary Neville on the right wing and pinging the ball across the field to Blomqvist, who passed it through to Scholes, who then pinged it back to Beckham, who swung it into the box.

There’s nobody to get end of it, but it’s still a reminder to every Manchester United fans about how much better everything was when the man their current manager still calls “the gaffer” was in charge.
