BBC announce star-studded lineup for Euro 2016 coverage

It’s no Johnny Giles retirement party, but it’s okay.

With the domestic season nearly over and the Premier League already decided, thoughts are now turning to the summer’s football, and more specifically the European Championships in France.

Rio Ferdinand, Gabby Logan, Gary Lineker, Thierry Henry and Alan Shearer

While RTÉ and TV3 are sharing the honours in Ireland (with the national broadcaster keeping all the best stuff for themselves) the BBC and ITV have a more equitable Euro 2016 arrangement.

On Monday the Beeb announced their star-studded team of presenters and pundits for the prestigious competition.

Regulars Gary Lineker, Gaby Logan and Alan Shearer will be joined by a veritable smorgasbord of expert analysers including big name recruits Rio Ferdinand and Thierry Henry.

They also boast (deep breath): Frank Lampard, Jurgen Klinsmann, Gianluca Vialli, Jens Lehmann, Robbie Savage, Neil Lennon, Martin Keown, Kevin Kilbane, Chris Waddle, John Hartson, Robbie Savage, Danny Murphy, Jermaine Jenas and Danny Mills.

Frank Lampard taking his New York City FC commitments really seriously, we see.
