This is a reminder, if one was needed, that Sven Ulreich isn’t Manuel Neuer.
Ulreich has been deputising for the injured Bayern Munich goalkeeper and he let in a costly error on Tuesday night in the second-leg of the Champions League semi-final against Real Madrid.
With the score level at 1-1 on the night, Corentin Tolisso played a blind pass back to his goalkeeper just after half-time. The pass was a little short, but Ulreich had a complete brain fart.
The ‘keeper wasn’t sure whether to handle the ball or kick it away and managed to do neither.
He slid at the ball and it went under his arm and across the penalty area. Karim Benzema was on hand to tap the ball into the empty net and give Madrid a 2-1 lead.
People watching the game couldn’t help but laugh at the comical error.
What a rick from Ulreich.
