*Schweinsteiger’s anecdote is actually cripplingly dull.
Strap yourselves in, you’re about to be regaled by an absolutely captivating story from Old Trafford’s resident raconteur, Bastian Schweinsteiger.
The Manchester United new boy revelead he experienced a bit of a culture shock when coming to England after spending 17 years at Bayern Munich.
Schweinsteiger told German newspaper Bild that there are some notable differences between England and Germany. He cited one particular anecdote that only serves to perpetuates the quite frankly, untrue stereotype that all Germans.
“The English have a special sense of humour. This I immediately experienced in the dressing room.
“As I walked with two plates while eating, suddenly a teammate asked me ‘Basti, what time is it?’ – Hoping I would automatically turn my hand to look at my watch.”
“That’s quite entertaining.”
Good God, those craic levels are off the charts. What are they like, those English?
