Arda Turan has become Barcelona’s second signing of the summer.
The Turkish attacker announced his intention to leave Atletico Madrid recently, giving rise to speculation that he might be heading for the Premier League.
Chelsea and Manchester United were thought to be the likely destinations if he opted for England, but Barcelona confirmed on Monday that they’ve snapped up the attacker.
Turan signed a five-year deal with the Catalans for an estimated fee of €35 million.
However, thanks to that pesky transfer ban, he won’t be able to appear for Barcelona competitively until January 2016.
The 28-year-old is the second new signing made by Barca this close season, after snapped up Aleix Vidal from Sevilla last month.
