Barcelona ‘pull out’ of €110million move for Paul Pogba, prompting nightmare scenario for Manchester United

Too expensive

Gareth Makim

It just gets worse for Manchester United.

Not only do they have to watch as their first choice manager pitches up across town at the Etihad next season, but Pep Guardiola might be joined at Manchester City by TheOneThatGotAway.

Yep, Paul Pogba could be wearing light blue next season after Barcelona reportedly broke off an agreement to sign the France midfielder from Juventus this summer.

The clubs had agreed a deal believed to be worth around €110million, but the Mirror reports the Catalan club have run the numbers and can no longer afford the Serie A star.

Barca will instead divert their resources to offering new deals to the likes of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Sergio Busquets, while a new central defender is also required at the Camp Nou.

If his preferred move to Spain is indeed off the table, Manchester City are sure to rekindle their long-term interest in the former Manchester United prospect, potentially giving Guardiola the signature arrival to kickstart his time in England.
