No, Messi or Neymar won’t be there but the Messi and Neymars of the future will be.
St. Kevin’s Boys Club is one of the leading schoolboy football clubs in the country and has produced a number of Irish stars past and present including Liam Brady, Damien Duff and more recently Jeff Hendrick and Robbie Brady.
The club hosts a number of European clubs to take part in their prestigious Academy Cup on Easter Weekend every year.
The tournament is now in its ninth year and the line up is as star-studded as ever with St. Kevin’s and Barcelona competing alongside Deportivo La Coruna, Olympique Marseille, KRC Genk and West Bromwich Albion.
Last year, St Kevin’s pulled off what might be the greatest upset in Irish footballing history by heroically beating the Catalan giants 1-0.

Barcelona did get revenge as they went on to beat St.Kevin’s in the final of the cup in a penalty shootout but were so happy with the tournament that they are coming back to defend their crown.
The tournament will start on Friday St.Kevin’s home ground in Whitehall with the club playing the Cup’s first match against KRC Genk at 10:00 am and will continue throughout the weekend with the final played on Sunday.
