Although it’s illegal, many people up and down the land stream Premier League matches over the internet.
But now, things could be about to change…
According to reports, the Premier League have demanded that UK internet service providers block several websites known for streaming football. With the likes of Sky and Virgin providing sports packages in Ireland, logic would dictate they follow suit on these shores.
The move follows years of blocking hundreds of other domains on the grounds of infringing footballing copyright, and it now appears that watching a game live will be harder than ever for those without subscriptions to Sky or BT.
Overseas, fans in Italy and Spain will also face online blocks after a court ruling stopped websites from the streaming of live sport.
The problem with watching a foreign stream in the pub is someone knows when there has been a goal before it goes in cause of the delay
