It looks like Manchester United are set to miss out on one of their main transfer targets this summer.
German world cup winner Mats Hummels has reportedly told Dortmund director Michael Zorc he wants to stay.
The Borussia Dortmund defender has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United and Arsenal, but it’s looking like he will remain in the Bundesliga next season.
Zorc told German paper Kicker: “It was legitimate that Mats was thinking about his future but I always pointed out that we plan with him.”
Michael Zorc confirms in tomorrow's Kicker that Mats Hummels has decided to stay at Dortmund and told Manchester United he won't join them.

Dortmund chief executive Hans Joachim Watzke had revealed that two major players will leave the club this summer, who everyone automatically assumed were Hummels and Ilkay Gundogan.
“There will be no major overhaul. Last year one player left [Robert Lewandowski who joined Bayern Munich], this year it is probably two.”
“Everything else is still open. So yes, there will be change but not a complete overhaul of the team.
“As for any of the other cases, I will not talk about names.”
However, with these new reports from Germany, it appears that Hummels will not be one of the two big names to depart Dortmund this window.
Unfortunately, that means we are unlikely to see any of this defensive magic in the Premier League next season.
