Bad news for Ireland fans hoping to get a ticket for play-off game in Bosnia

A tough trip for Irish fans

Robert Redmond

Only 600 travelling Irish fans will receive tickets for for the next month’s game in Zenica.

The first leg of the Republic of Ireland’s play-off against Bosnia-Herzegovina will be played at Bilino Polje Stadium and, due to UEFA regulations, the capacity has been reduced from 15,600 to 11,500 on November 13th.

According to the Independent, the FAI have been in talks with Bosnian officials to recieve more than the minimum allocated five per cent of tickets for away fans.

These talks have been somewhat fruitful and the association managed to gain a further 25 tickets on top of the allocated 575.bosnia stadiumThat might not seem like much, but it’s still 25 more hardcore Ireland fans to cheer on Martin O’Neill’s team in a game where every bit of support will count.

When the fixture was announced, the FAI were expected to receive around 780 tickets, but the reduced capacity has affected the Irish allocation.
