Arsene Wenger reportedly behaved like a child when he last encountered Jose Mourinho

The ongoing schoolboy feud between Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho plummeted to new levels of petulance last week.

Spanish outlet Marca tell a fantastically puerile story about an altercation between the rival managers that took place at a Uefa conference. The most recognisable faces in football management descended on Uefa HQ and when Mourinho arrived late as Alex Ferguson prepared to relay his welcoming speech, Wenger took the opportunity to show his teenager side. With no seating plan in place, Mourinho eyed an empty chair close to Zinedine Zidane and Unai Emery but when he asked whether the seat was free for him to sit down, he was met with a masterclass in immaturity from a familiar face. The report claims that Wenger piped up immediately by saying "no, it is not possible," as he did not want to sit next to Mourinho, with whom he shares a frosty relationship. Apparently, the response was met with awkward laughter while some pretended not to hear the curt reply. We all know that there is no love lost between the Manchester United and Arsenal managers, with a war of words dating back to 2004. The rivalry came to a head in October 2014 when they engaged in a shoving match on the sidelines during Chelsea's 2-0 victory over the Gunners. We're expecting odds on a hair-pulling incident between the two to plummet before the pair next meet at Old Trafford on 19th November.
