Surprisingly it wasn’t to do with the fact that the shirt cost £110
Arsenal have been forced to take their new home shirt off sale after spotting a “design error”.
The shirt, which marks 20 years since the club’s Invincibles’ season, recently went on sale for a price of £110 but has had to be taken down after they incorrectly listed the records achieved by the Gunners in the 2003-04 season.
As part of the details on the kit, it included the outcome of the 38 league results with a row of W’s and D’s to highlight the wins and draws from across the season.
But, instead of featuring 38, the shirt only had 32 of the results.

Adidas have confirmed that those who have already bought the kit will be entitled to a refund.
“The 2023-24 Arsenal home authentic jerseys are temporarily unavailable while a design error is being corrected,” the kit manufacturer said.
“We are working closely with the club and our partners to ensure restocked jerseys are available as soon as possible, and are offering full refunds to fans who have already bought one.
“This design error falls short of the standards we set ourselves as a brand, and we apologise to the club and its fans.
“The replica ‘fan’ version of the home jersey is unaffected and widely available now.”
The ‘fan’ shirt, which retails for £80 and features the same design, hasn’t got the same mistake and will still be available for sale at the club shop.
