When a new kit came out back in the day, they probably just stuck it up in the club shop and that was that.
But since those early days of the Premier League kit launches have grown more and more elaborate and ostentatious.
Now unveiling a new strip is all singing and dancing, ticker tape parades and sometimes rather bizarre Space Jam-esque animations like we saw when Manchester United’s new home strip dropped last week.
Although it seems AC Milan could barely cobble together any actual players to launch their ‘green’ third strip.
But now to be outdone by their Premier League rivals United, Arsenal went full Hollywood with their release of their away and third kits…. in Hollywood, obviously.
It wouldn’t be Hollywood without some showbiz magic and A-lister Jamie Foxx rocked up to pledge his allegiance to the Gunners.

Hector Bellerin was the player chosen to model the new away strip. The design is a more classic Arsenal look in yellow pinstripe with gunmetal grey detail in a nod to the club’s history around the Woolwich armaments factory, The Royal Arsenal. The shirt also has a rather natty fold over collar.
Defender Nacho Monreal was there sporting the club’s new third kit which manufacturers PUMA say was designed with an ultra-modern feel.
Apparently it’s a ‘dark peacoat hue’, with flashed of Safety Yellow along the sleeves and cuffs, shorts, and in the block colour socks.
Right back Bellerin has taken a shine to the new shirts and said: “I’m loving the new Away and Cup Kits for this season. I’m pretty into fashion so I think the Away Kit is great – the shirt has a cool collar and pinstripes, what else could you want?
“I really like the colours in the Cup Kit too – the Safety Yellow details will definitely help us stand out on pitch!”
Bellerin wasn’t the only one enraptured by the new kits…
the arsenal away kit is too fly.

Still, there’s always someone who has to take the piss…
@br_uk @pumafootball They really need a fourth kit , just because Arsenal and fourth place go together like Giroud and Carthorses.
