Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain faces a race against time to be fit for Euro 2016 after Arsene Wenger revealed the midfielder will miss the next six to eight weeks.
Oxlade-Chamberlain went off injured in Arsenal’s Champions League defeat to Barcelona, and faces time on the sidelines just as the club gets to the business end of the season.
But there is one positive, with Wenger confirming the former Southampton man will not require surgery.
The 22-year-old has played 37 times for club and country this season and had been considered a likely selection for Roy Hodgson’s Euro 2016 squad.
But the England boss may be reluctant to include a player without match practice in the lead-up to the tournament in France.
