Leicester City fans’ banner for trip to Spurs goes down a treat with Arsenal fans

A painful reminder for Spurs supporters

Simon Lloyd

There was a time towards the end of last season when it seemed that the Premier League title would end up at one of either two clubs: Leicester City or Tottenham Hotspur.

As we all know, Leicester did enough to get over the line – their title triumph confirmed when Spurs could only draw 2-2 with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

With the title gone, Mauricio Pochettino’s men went on to lose their final two league matches – 2-1 at home to Southampton and 5-1 away at already-relegated Newcastle United.

Not only had they missed out on the title, but their disastrous end to the season also saw rivals Arsenal pip them to second place.

Reminding them of both of those two facts is this banner, which Leicester supporters have prepared ahead of this weekend’s visit to White Hart Lane.

Since it first surfaced on Twitter, the picture of the banner has been widely circulated, with Arsenal fans appearing to be particularly impressed by it. And that shouldn’t come as much of a surprise.

Leicester, who have made a sluggish start to their title defence, will face Spurs in a 3 o’clock kick off at White Hart Lane. We’re sure their banner will be well received by the home supporters…
