Apology incoming.
As Antoine Griezmann mucks around at an 80s party, he doesn’t seem to realise the trail of outrage he has left on his way there.
The Frenchman made an ill-advised decision with his costume choice for a fancy dress on Sunday night and he made an equally as ill-advised decision to post a picture of that costume on the internet.
The third part in a long line of unfortunate events was seemingly abandoning a 3G zone after tweeting a picture of himself and leaving it lingering online for the rest of the evening as a snowball of disgust, of accusations and of all-round commotion followed.

Within an hour, that social media post had been retweeted nearly 13,000 times and Griezmann was nowhere to be found to take the fourth and fifth steps which will surely follow:
The delete. Then the apology.
The stream of comments which followed were probably predictable as the Atletico Madrid star’s post sat on Twitter on Sunday night.
Griezmann was accused of racism, stupidity and it also, even more unfortunately, attracted trolls looking to make hay and incense people even further when they got a sniff of outrage and coupled it with a sensitive topic.
Dude.. you’re gona get so much backlash.. 😧😖

Amidst all the chaos, one man had the only decent piece of advice for him.
Man… delete this fast.

Griezmann initially stood his ground and told everyone to “calm down”. Then, he backed down himself and deleted both of those tweets.
He's eventually deleted it https://t.co/0O9QSjNqbg
