The former Manchester United and Real Madrid man is in a spot of trouble.
PSG attacker Angel di Maria has been handed a one-year prison sentence after admitting to tax fraud, as reported by El Confidencial
The Argentinian international defrauded the Spanish government to a sum of £1.14 million during his four-year spell with Real Madrid between 2010 and 2014. The Spanish Supreme Court found Lionel Messi guilty of similar crimes last year.
Regarding di Maria, he has admitted to two separate counts of fraud – each of which will carry a six-month sentence.
He has also been ordered to pay a fine of £1.76m.
It’s unlikely that the Argentinian will spend any time in jail though because under Spanish law, any sentence of under two-years is usually suspended, providing the person has no previous convictions.
