Karma is beautiful.
Liverpool pulled off the most miraculous of comebacks in the second leg of their Champions League semi-final against Barcelona on Tuesday night, beating the tournament favourites 4-0 without two of their most important players: Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino.
Despite being 1-0 up at the break, the Reds were dealt what seemed to be a major blow as Andy Robertson was forced off at half-time after being kicked by former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez in the first half.
As it turned out, that act of shithousery from Suarez may have actually cost Barcelona a place in the final, as Robertson’s replacement, Gini Wijnaldum, scored twice to level the scores before Divock Origi clinched the winning goal.
After the game, Robertson was asked about his ‘battle’ with Suarez, and the Scotland captain had the perfect response.
“You had a running battle with Luis Suarez and he took you out,” it was put to the left-back.
“Who’s going to the final? We’re going to the final. That’s all I care about,” he responded.
Fair play. He’s not wrong, is he? And you know who isn’t going to the final? Suarez. Cheers.
