Andrea Pirlo to Liverpool? Reports in Italy say it’s a distinct possibility

Make. It. Happen.

What’s the red wine like on Merseyside?

Earlier this week Andrea Pirlo said he’s be moving on from Juventus either this summer or in 2016, and naturally the suitors have begun to line up.

Italian newspaper Tuttosport say that Liverpool have already made contact with the player about joining them in the summer, and that theirs is the most concrete offer of the lot, with several European, South American and MLS clubs in the hunt to sign him.

The Italian’s Juventus contract expires in the summer of 2016, but he could move this summer, after confirming he wanted to sample another league before hanging up his boots.

Pirlo, who turns 36 this month, has a cult following for his set-piece ability, casual playing style, glorious hair, rugged beard, and ownership of a vineyard.

Whether Pirlo would be able to have a similar impact in the more fast-paced tempo of the Premier League is up for debate, but we’d certainly love to see him try.

However, the likely scenario is that he joins an MLS side, and Brodge claims he was never on the radar.
