A deal is expected to be announced imminently

Andre Onana is reportedly flying to England ahead of signing for Manchester United.

Erik ten Hag identified the Inter Milan goalkeeper as the number one replacement for David De Gea, who left the club following the end of his contract after United withdrew their offer of a new deal at the last minute.

Onana is set to sign a five-year deal at Old Trafford at there is hope that he will sign in time to travel with the rest of the squad to the USA on Wednesday for the start of United’s pre-season tour.

According to The Athletic, United have proposed to pay a fee of  €43m plus €5m in add-ons, but the exact figure is still currently being negotiated.

The deal to bring the Cameroon international will see him reunite with Ten Hag again once more after working under the Dutchman while at Ajax.

It is expected that once a deal is completed it will allow Dean Henderson to sign permanently for Nottingham Forest after spending last season on-loan at the City Ground.

If all goes to plan, he will be United’s second signing of the season after Mason Mount joined earlier this month from Chelsea for £60m.

United still remain in the hunt for new signings and are reportedly in talks with Atalanta to sign Rasmus Hojlund after deeming Harry Kane to be too expensive, with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy slapping a £120m asking price on his star man.
