Several clubs are looking to take advantage of the doubt hovering over Anthony Martial’s future at Manchester United.
It’s reported that Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are monitoring Martial’s situation while Chelsea would consider the Frenchman an ideal replacement for Eden Hazard, who has been linked with a move to Real Madrid this summer.
In June, Martial’s agent publicly announced that the 22-year-old was pushing for a move away from Old Trafford and reports claim that he has rejected the offer of an improved contract from United.
Manager Jose Mourinho has suggested that he is eager to start the next Premier League season with Martial in the starting line-up but the fact that his playing time has been so limited in campaigns gone by could lead the forward to officially hand in a transfer request in pursuit of improved game time and, hopefully, a return to the national team.
However Martial’s teammate Ander Herrera has urged the 2015 Golden Boy winner to stay put at Old Trafford and prove his potential.
“He’s very talented,” Herrera told Sky Sports.
“He can be one of the best players in the world and I think he is very focused this season to smash it.
“When you have players like Anthony, like Marcus Rashford, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata, Alexis Sanchez, those kind of players can change the game.
“If one of them cannot play, we have three or four more so we have lots of options. I think we shouldn’t think that any other club in the Premier League has better players because at least we have as good as the opponents.
“Now it’s all about work, confidence, about keep playing like he did [in the friendly against CF America]. I am confident with them because they are all amazing players and Anthony looks very sharp.”
