Even with his back turned, Alisson proves unbeatable at Anfield

Alisson Becker has been one of the signings of the season. He even brings his ‘A’ game in the warm-up.

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson is good at many things, but namely being handsome as all hell and stopping the ball from going into the net. He has exhibited examples of both since joining Liverpool from AS Roma last summer and has helped the Reds remain in the title race going into the final couple of weeks of the season.

On Friday, Jurgen Klopp’s side faced Huddersfield Town and dispatched of the already relegated side with the ease of a parent picking up their toddler and placing them inside a cot.

Alisson was barely troubled throughout the game bar a couple of saves here and there, and in fact the most work he had to do all evening came from a shot from one of his own players before the match had even kicked off.

Just before he registered his 18th Premier League clean sheet of the season, the Liverpool players were trying their luck in the warm-up. As the Brazilian strolled back to his goal, Virgil van Dijk took a pop.

The Dutch defender hits a lovely little chip over Alisson but just at the last minute he turns around, sees the ball and tips it over the bar. He simply was not having it…

Denied!

Proof, if nothing else, that you need to get up a little earlier in the morning to catch him out.
