Mac Allister made the young fans’ day.

Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Alexis Mac Allister gave some young fans a day to remember as he showed off his World Cup winners medal.

Mac Allister was instrumental in Argentina’s World Cup success – their first since 1986 – scoring one goal and registering one assist and featuring in six of the games.

After a wild few days celebrating in Buenos Aires, Mac Allister has returned to Brighton – scoring twice in the FA Cup win against Middlesbrough – where he was greeted with a huge congratulations from all of the players and staff.

The 24-year-old was filmed leaving the club’s training ground where was approached by some young supporters. Mac Allister then surprised the fans by unrolling his window and showing them his World Cup medal.

To make their day even better, they were then given the opportunity to hold the medal before posing for pictures with one of their heroes.

As a result of his impressive performances in Qatar and at the Amex Stadium, the Argentine has been linked with a move away from the South Coast.

Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are two of the names mentioned as well as Chelsea, which could mean a link up with former Brighton manager Graham Potter at Stamford Bridge.

However despite the speculation around his name beginning to intensify, Mac Allister is firmly focused on his work at Brighton.

“It was a good World Cup for this club and for the players who went to the World Cup. We know we’ve got a good team with really good players. This is a tough league, it will be hard, but we will try to finish as high as we can,” he said.
